Christmas Eve 2013

Every party, every decoration, and every morsel of holiday baking has led to this. The anticipation has trekked to it's peak and tomorrow morning all wonder will cease in an avalanche of gifts left by Santa. One specially marked gift holds the traditional pajama gift and Lauren and Jace get to open that tonight so they can sleep all snug in their bed. The cookies and milk were almost forgotten, but thanks to Jace we quickly rounded some up to keep Santa happy. Soon the house was quiet and the tree was sparkling overflowing with wrapped wishes; bursting with with excitement as it waited........

Parties a la Family

December is a month of gatherings, and for us a lot of them include family. My grandma, a.k.a. "Ma" chooses the gift of time to give at Christmas. She invited all of her great-grandkids to a special celebration that included pizza, games and cookie decorating. Everyone had a good time, thanks Ma!!

Then there was our family party with my parents and siblings. Things got a little weird when my parents performed their mustached cowboy Christmas skit, but thankfully everyone was able to laugh it off....
Well, then there was the incident where Ma swapped her wig for Randy's mustache/glasses combo.....
But then there was a jingle at the door- Santa arrived just in time to save the night!
He listened to Christmas lists from the kids and told a story of a Christmas long ago.

We are very blessed to have family close, to be able to spend time and create memories with them. It takes a lot of time and effort to bring us all together, but it is worth it.
It really is.....

Tidbits.....

Bits and pieces of December
  • one dusk, a glorious cloud formation was highlighted by the setting sun. Lovely enough to pause and take a photo.

  • The National Finals Rodeo trotted into town and Jason got box seats, compliments of Cashman Equipment, for our viewing pleasure.

  • Every Christmas deserves a sweet gingerbread house designed by Lauren and Jace.

  • Jace was the only taker on tree decorating this year......

  • Lauren had a school choir holiday concert. It was lovely.....

  • Jace looking quite handsome in his Christmas Sunday attire.....

Radio Show

Jason and I were asked to be the hosts for our ward Christmas party. The idea of the show was a 1940's radio program and inbetween each number/song Jason would do a old timey commercial and introduce the next number. Jason did the talking while I was the applause lady. It turned out to be a good show and we had lots of fun doing it. My sister Tiffany and I did the centerpieces for the tables too. Since we were all dressed up we went downtown and enjoyed some fun afterwards........
