BIRTHDAY GUY #1

May 22nd, a day to celebrate two of my favorite guys. First and foremost is Jason(I do have to live w/ him). After 13 tears of marriage we are still going strong. Just last week Lauren asked me who my best friend was. After some reflection I said that dad was. She wasn't too pleased with that answer because she was talking about a GIRL friend. I told her I have friends that are girls, but not a super best friend, she thinks I need one so I am officially taking offers. So that puts Jason as my best guy friend.... I can live with that! He's also a great dad and hard worker, plus he tolerates me well! He rarely gets angry, I think the last thing we argued about was where to go to dinner because neither of us wanted to make the decision. I'm definately a lucky girl to end up with him.

BIRTHDAY GUY #2

I have to admit that my love for Morrissey has been longer than that of my dear husband. It all started in the late 80's with a tape(yes a tape) I acquired from a band called The Smiths and it was love at first listen. I have had the pleasure of seeing him in concert several times and enjoyed every minute. This year marks his 50th birthday, yet he is still as handsome as ever.

Our little DUDE is growing up......

Jace Garrett was born on the 20th of May, 2001. It was a quiet Sunday morning(mainly because I got an epidural) and my due date. So imagine my surprise when I heard the shocking news that I'd just given birth to a 9lb. 2 0z. baby boy! So it's crazy that one of his nicknames now is "bones" because the kid is so skinny you can see his bones! Without further ado I've chosen a few photos of Jace to reminisce........

DECADE PARTY

IT WAS LIKE TOTALLY AWESOME!!

For Lauren's 10th birthday we decided to do a decade party since she had reached that mile marker of being a decade old. The girls were to dress reminiscent of their favorite decade(or their moms). It turned out that we had a few poodle skirts, some side ponytails, tye dye and even crimped hair. There was 50's music that we did "the twist" to, 70's disco to which I taught the girls the "lasso", 80's music, threw in some Madonna and at the request of the girls we watched the "Thriller" video and attempted the zombie dance. I did make them promise they wouldn't get all scared and have nightmares about it and I never got any mom complaints so I suppose they were OK. Lauren wanted pizza so we had CiCi's pizza and cinnamon rolls and I made brownie parfaits. I made a powerpoint of pictures from different decades like a pic of John Travolta from "Staying Alive", Nirvana looking all grunge, some people wearing poodle skirts etc. I have to say that most of the girls did pretty well deciphering the decades considering they weren't around when it happened.

I ALMOST FORGOT

TWO FRIDAYS BEFORE LAST........

....OR APRIL 17TH IF YOU LIKE. IT ALL STARTS WITH THIS SHAMELESS PLUG FOR ENSIGN. THEY HAD THEIR GRAND OPENING FOR THEIR CRAIG LOCATION AND LO AND BEHOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYONE TO PLAY THE PART OF BILL(THAT'S WHERE I COME IN). SO IF YOU'LL TAKE A GLANCE BELOW, THE FAB LOOKING DOLLAR (NAMED BILL) IS NONE OTHER THAN ME. IT MIGHT TAKE YOU A MOMENT TO LET IT ALL IN, BUT IT'S TRUE. EVEN BETTER -THE PENNY(APPROPRIATELY NAMED "PENNY") IS BEING PLAYED BY EMPLOYEE AND SISTER OF MINE KARESSA. DON'T WE JUST COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER IN OUR FABULOUS ATTIRE? SHE'S THE REASON I GOT ROPED INTO THIS WHOLE THING- BUT I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS KIND OF FUN!

sidenote: Ensign is a great bank to start that extra savings account and accounts for the kiddies(shameless plug part)

AFTER THAT ADVENTURE CEASED, I WAS OFF TO ANOTHER- THE CURE CONCERT. I'VE SEEN THEM LIVE TWICE SO I FIGURED THIS JUST MIGHT BE THE LAST CHANCE TO SEE THEM AGAIN. DONALD AND ANGIE JOINED US AND WE HEADED OUT WITH OUR SIGHTS SET ON NORA'S; YOU MUST INVOLVE FOOD IN AN EVENT LIKE THIS. DINNER WAS GOOD, ITALIAN NEVER FAILS ME. WITH OUR BELLIES FULL, OUR NEXT STOP WAS PEARL AT THE PALMS. WE FOUND OUR SEATS, EVERY SEAT IS A GOOD SEAT AT THE PEARL, AND WAITED PATIENTLY FOR ROBERT SMITH TO GRACE US WITH HIS PRESENCE. THE BAND CAME ON FASHIONABLY LATE BUT PLAYED FOR OVER TWO HOURS.
