HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!

Time, time ,time see what's become of me....

My baby girl is growing up way too fast! Today she turned a decade old- that's 10 years! I've chosen a few of my favorite snapshots to share a few moments of Lauren's ten years.......

Just look at those baby blues...how could any mother resist that face!

We had dinner with Elvis!
Well, considering I've known Lauren since she was born , I'll take just a moment to share a few things about her.......
  • She was talking at about a year and hasn't stopped
  • She has great hair- I always thought it would turn brown as she got older, but it's still blond, thick and beautiful
  • She is a great helper- you rarely have to ask her twice to do something and usually it's her asking what she can do to help
  • She likes to be fashionable
  • She likes music- She's also into my 80's music like Depeche Mode, one of her favorite songs right now is "Forever Young" by Alphaville
  • She is always very conscious of whether an outfit is modest or not
  • She is a great student with good grades
  • She has a lot of friends
  • She still likes to be tucked in by her "Momsy"(That's what she calls me because mom is too plain and mommy is for babies)

The list could go on and on......
I'm just proud to call her my daughter!! I'm no good at the mushy stuff but I do want to say.....

I LOVE YOU & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!

EASTER 2009

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin' down the bunny trail....

Easter brings a feeling of new beginning and a chance to start fresh. The air outside is warmer, flowers are blooming and the kids are playing outside. I love the pop of color after a dreary and desolate winter. Easter with our family begins the day before. With assignments in tow we all met in my sister Steph's backyard for some Easter fun. There were games, bbq, and an egg hunt. The missionaries even stopped by for some grub and in return gave a short lesson on Easter. My cousin Rachel, her man, and 2 kids also joined us from Pahrump.

Jace used a Target bag- he's too cool for a cute basket!

I'm pretty sure this is Kate. Isn't she cute!

Easter morning:
I often brag about my kid's ability to sleep in. They certainly take after me- perhaps it's a learned trait. The only problem is these darn holidays when someone intrudes our home and leaves them gifts. They have the urge to then wake up early just to behold what treasures have been left behind. Easter is one of those days- so 7:30 am we're up to enjoy our Easter morning. The Easter Bunny had left behind lots of yummy candy, a few little toys and new swimsuits. Then I went back to bed- after all church wasn't til 11- don't judge!

(there were gnats so Lauren didn't want her pic-BooHoo!)
Later that day we journeyed to my parents house for Easter dinner. We enjoyed ham, turkey salad, mashed potatoes, rolls, well anyway -the works! We had a good night, played some games and ate some cake. Overall we had a great Easter. While we had a ton of fun we also took time to celebrate the true meaning of Easter and to be thankful for all the blessings we have.

Sp-Ring Break!

Good 'ol spring break! We were able to fit in two blog worthy events. We spent one afternoon at Lied Discovery Museum. After entering past the Bums (aka Hobos) we were able to kill a few hours on science experiments, singing, grocery shopping and more. Some cousins and grandma joined us for xtra good times.

Hannah and Lauren love the lactose
Lauren creating "Super Bubble"

Jace moon walking

Jace can lift his own body weight- as if that's saying much!

Hannah, Maddy & Lauren got caught in a horrendous wind storm!

King-Putt indoor golf. Well let's just say it IS golf and it certainly is MINI. The kids enjoyed it but I have to say it was no Scandia, and was certainly a bit cheesy, In it's defense it IS something to do. That said- I would probably go back if I had a great coupon, but not for full price. The whole place was lit in black light so we all walked around looking like the Cheshire Cat every time we smiled!
Jace going for a hole in one!

What's up Gorilla Butt

Lauren & Maddy like this end a little better!

Golfin' Gang!
Well there you have it- Two fabulous spring break outings. Well at least we got out of the house!!!

Nothin' but FUN!!

Projects, projects...... this was Lauren's diorama she and I put together for her report on a Nancy Drew mystery book. It turned out quite cute and of course I asked Lauren what grade she got and I received an "I don't know." I guess they'll get their grades when they return from track break!

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME.....

It's that time of year again when we spend our days at the baseball fields. Jace and his friend Brett scored the same team so they get to be teammates. These pictures are from opening day, March 28th, the place was a madhouse but we made it through.

Brett & Jace

Lauren & Brooke (Brett's sis) got some fancy face paint

Later that day we trekked across the valley to celebrate my nephew Jaxon's 1st birthday.
Jaxon looked like he might fall asleep eating his cake

Nothing like a pinata to bring the cousins together

Our family with the birthday boy... oh, and also Zack's head moseying on by

CiCi's Pizza- a great place to take 15 hungry kids. For the most part they could help themselves to all the pizza and desserts their little hearts desired while the moms sat back and enjoyed. One little guy kept the mom table fully stocked with cinnamon rolls and brownies....

Lincoln, Brett & Jace

The boys were searching for quarters since their mean moms wouldn't give them any
Wind or no wind we were determined to go to the "spinny park " on Wednesday. We made a few calls picked up a few friends and met a few friends at the destination. I'm happy to say that the contents of everyone's stomach was able to stay put with all the spinny dizzy fun.

These guys wore themselves out!!

Finally! Yes that is a photo of me and my friend Dawn gracing the entry of the World Market Center. We went on Thursday with our Textiles class to check out some things. I have to say it's really no fun if you can't buy anything. Someday, though, someday. I would like to check it out during market week when all the vendors are open and all the buyers are sniffing out the latest goods.

Hey, look at me! I'm on a Frank Gehry wiggle chair!
Side note: He's also the architect behind that Brain Institute next to Market
