EASTER WEEKEND 2012

In our family Easter isn't a day, but rather a weekend.

The festivities began on Saturday with a picnic lunch that included pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni salad, baked beans, and chips.

Then it was game time!!
Egg and spoon races, sack races and 3-legged races
Jace and Clark
Lauren and Ava

My cousin Marvin looking dapper sporting 4 year old Jaxon's Easter hat......

Which he then so graciously passed on to me.....
(the hat continued to be passed around until it graced the furry head of our special guest...)

Hannah, Lauren, Ava, and Maddy enjoy their refreshing ice cream desserts.

While Trenton, DC, Jace, Clark, and Jake did too.

Sisters and sis-in-law enjoying a break.....

Then it is time for the Easter Hunt!!!
The kids scurry across the lawn looking for the goodies that suit their fancy...

Then SURPRISE!!!! a special guest has joined the festivities!!!
(note the hat!)
(ignore the lunatic behind the Easter Bunny)

The Easter Bunny (aka grandpa) with Lauren and Jace

Easter Bunny with the whole crew!!!

The Easter hunt consisted of lots of water squirters, which were then put to good use....

The boys defending their boundaries...

while the girls retaliate....
Needless to say the kids ended up super soaked.
I, on the other hand retreated to the no squirting zone!!

Easter Sunday

The kids awoke to find that the Easter Bunny had left them a few goodies in the backyard, which in turn, had to be hunted asap...

Jace and Lauren both ended up with lots of sweets and some fun.

We then enjoyed a great Easter Sunday at church.
Lauren and I had color coordinated outfits....

That evening we drove to my parents house to enjoy Easter dinner with the family.
We had ham, turkey, potatoes, rolls, salad, veggies, and cake.
Of course my mom decorated the tables with beautiful flowers...

We had a great Easter weekend enjoying both the religious and festive sides of the holiday.
I love that we got to spend time with our family and can't wait to do it all again next year!!

What a wonderful weekend! It makes me miss our extended family that much more. Lauren and Maddy look like they could be sisters =).
