Halloween and Disneyland

October 31- November 4, 2014

Halloween is still Halloween even if you are out of town. So after doing a little research we decided that we would join Huntington Beach for their trick or treating festivities. They blocked off the few streets of surf shops, stores, and restaurants right across from the crashing waves of the ocean and Huntington Pier. All the businesses were handing out candy, as well as the fire department, lifeguards, Coast Guard etc. They had all kinds of games and a costume contest going on as well. The cousins that dressed up loaded up on all kinds of sugary goodness. With the goody bags full we all walked over to the pier and took a little stroll before heading back to the hotel to get some rest for the big day we had ahead of us......

DISNEYLAND
It has been YEARS since the Nelson side of the family have all gone to Disneyland together. With my parents, my family, and my sisters and their families there are now twenty three of us. That is a tricky number of people to try to keep together in such a big park, especially with ages ranging from 5 clear up to 60, but we worked it out spending time all together, few of us together, cousins going off together etc.. Our friends the Pisciotta's were also there at the same time and we spent some time riding a few rides and the train caboose "Lilly Belle" with them.

After three days of Disney fun it was time to head back to Vegas. We stopped for lunch at The Hat in Glendora then checked out this amazing tree that was just down the street. The kids ran around for a bit then we made our last stop at Donut Man for some tasty treats.

Of course Disneyland never disappoints (we are smart enough to steer clear of summer and holidays) and we had a magical vacation once again. Thanks Walt!
