For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
We started our Thanksgiving feasting a day early with Jason's dad, Kathy, Spencer, Minty, Micah and the kids. They all came over and we enjoyed turkey, ham and all the sides. This was the first time Jason and I had ever cooked a turkey. I was a little nervous, but honestly it was a breeze.

On Thanksgiving Day we joined with my side of the family to stuff ourselves again. This time there were a few more people and all I had to provide was rolls, cranberry sauce(which BTW- no one ever eats) and peas. My sister Stephanie hosted this year, so we had the festivities at her house.
Jace is just tired of me taking pictures.......

Jace drinking his sparkling cider in a most unconventional manner!

Is it that good?
The cool table.....
They do say that turkey makes you tired.....guess it's true!
The sisters!
The whole crew!! My cousin Rachel and her family joined us , as well as my cousin Marvin and his wife. We had a great dinner and a good time together. Thanksgiving 2010 will go down in the blog as a success!!
Black Friday:
Lauren insisted that we go out for Black Friday, soooo rather than wake from the warmth of my bed at 2am we decided to hit the earlier sales. At 11pm we drove over to Toys R Us and the line was literally a mile long! So we waited a bit but they were being stingy about letting people in slowly and in order etc. So we passed(it was freezing outside) and went down to Old Navy where we waited for a bit in the cold but finally got in and wrangled up a few good deals. After that a trip to the trusty old WalMart for a few purchases and home by 2am to snuggle up in our warm beds.
