DOUBLE TROUBLE

The twins have arrived! Kate weighed in at 5lb.12oz. and Jane at 5lb.6oz. and they are healthy and mom is doing well too.By the way I didn't just give birth, it was my sister Steph who is already the proud mom of 3 rambunctious boys. So needless to say we were all pretty hyped about the twins being girls. That brings the grandkid tally for my parents to 6 girls and 6 boys. I went to see them yesterday and boy are they tiny. I took a few pics while I was there- Kate is the single picture and the double is Jane on the left and Kate on the right(I think).

COLD MOUNTAIN

Good 'ol Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer to take a long weekend to enjoy the warming trend in the weather. That is unless your plans involve heading to Cedar City for a stay at the cabin.32 degrees Friday night when we pulled in- that is FREEZING!! All was not lost though,we cranked the heater and pulled out our jackets. Saturday we went to town and ate lunch and made a visit to the graves of some of our family, followed by a stop at the movie theatre where we watched Indiana Jones for $5. The movie was great, another classic for sure. We had Wingers for dinner, not that we were even hungry after the popcorn, but that's what you do on vacation- right? Sunday we had breakfast at the Parowan Cafe and drove up over the mountain where we found Brianhead full of snow. These snowy pics were taken at Cedar Breaks- FREEZING COLD!! We hung out at the cabin and Lauren and Jace played with the dog from down the road that they named "Ray" and Lauren found a bird skeleton that was later crushed by one of them.I found some of those plastic ballon things we had when I was little that you would squeeze out of the tube and put it on the end of the straw and blow it up. The kids loved it- some things just never go out of style. We played some Scum with my parents who also came up and Jason got all angry saying we were changing the rules and it turns out he was right, but it was funny anyway. We ended our weekend Monday night at my parents with a pool party and once again the cold creeped in and there was no way I was swimming. Most of the kids swam and shivered but enjoyed every minute. We're back to our old routine now and thawing out as the weather is getting warmer.

LITTLE LEAGUER

Jace has survived his first season of Little League Baseball. At first we weren't quite sure we wanted to sacrifice our Saturdays, but it was worth it to see Jace having fun and learning to play. Not bragging but he did quite well for having not played before, he even perfected the unnecessary slide home. He looked so handsome in his little uniform too, of course he had to play it cool with his teammates around so I wasn't allowed to say anything too "mommyish" to him. He's looking forward to next season and we're not dreading it because it turned out to be quite fun.

DISNEYLAND

Good 'ol Disneyland!! We went down Saturday and came home Tuesday. It just seems like you enter another dimension there. It was Jace's birthday on Tuesday that was the main reason for our adventure, so he was thrilled be able to get the birthday button and the phone call from Goofy. On Sunday he was a hair too short to ride Screamin', but miraculously on his birthday he was tall enough and got to ride it for the first time and loved it. Oh I forgot to mention Jason put some paper towels in his shoes to raise him up- that's not cheating is it? Overall we had a good time- my parents went and my sister Karessa and her family ended up going too. It was really HOT on Sunday, but cooled down Monday and Tuesday. On Sunday the heat was blazing and all I wanted was a frozen slushy raspberry lemonade to cool me down, and not the chinsy one from the ice-cream guy but the slushy fountain drinkish ones. So me and my dad got in line and on the person in front of me it breaks down-SHUT UP! So a guy comes to fix it and we're still hanging around waiting for the parade so we jump back in line - same thing 3 times we do this . Finally the guy figures out it's overheating and needs to rest in between customers. Persistence paid off and I got my $4 slushy!!!

CAT MAN DO

MEEEOOWWW!!!! I know the jealousy is welling up deep inside of you, but the truth of the matter is it was I who's keen eyes spotted the magnificent cat man and was bold enough to get my photo with him. It all began last Monday as we were leisurely waiting in line at the Haunted Mansion (how appropriate) in Disneyland. The cat and his friends were a ways up from us but I got my camera ready in case our paths should cross. To my dismay they didn't and I was bummed. We got off the ride and were deciding where to go next when my peripheral vision caught sight. I conned Jason into taking the picture for me and the rest is well, as they say history. You might have to click on the picture because Jason didn't get close enough, he said it's because he had to get the man boobs in the photo- whatever. Anyway look close this guy has gone all out, I think I've seen him on Discovery channel or something. So don't hate me , celebrate my picture with me.

SAVING SPONGEBOB

We're in the middle of having a pool put in, so yesterday we were outside checking the progress and Jace asked if he could walk around down in the bottom. Yeah, sure whatever. He found a piece of yellow sponge at the bottom that one of the workers must have left behind and asks -

Jace-"Mom if this was Spongebob would he still be alive?"

Me-"Probably not, he's all dried up and sponges need water to survive."

That was the end of the conversation and the night wore on as usual. Then this morning I made a visit to the bathroom downstairs and guess who was alive and well floating in the sink- SPONGEBOB had been saved. Evidently Jace had brought him in and put the stopper up in the sink and filled it with water to save his friend!

HALLELUJAH!!

Fifteen grueling weeks of tedious mind numbing torture has come to an end. Yes, my drafting class is DONE! I honestly didn't expect to have skills in this department, but guess who got an A- that's right 'twas I. Hard to believe but the class ended up being O.K. and our teacher Sandy was pretty good at explaining and especially patient at answering ALL of my questions. For those who are wondering why a sane person like me would submit themselves to this, let me put your mind at ease. You see my friend Dawn and I are attempting to achieve the Interior Design degree from CSN. While for most this is a 2 year degree, for me it's a whenever I finish degree. We took two classes last semester and I've put up a picture of my final project for the color class. We had to design a room around a piece of art. Of course I got an A in that class too.(not bragging, just truthful) The other lovely photos are from my final in Drafting. If you click on the picture you'll be able to appreciate my masterpieces more fully. Also can some of you cut a girl some slack and leave a comment. Seriously, it looks like I don't have any friends. No pressure- just looking to boost my confidence a bit.
